Electricity Action

Societies who achieved an A in Electricity action, have taken ALL the following climate actions: 

Energy Efficiency & Sufficiency

✅ LED lights in all common areas (parking, lobby, stairwells, etc.)

Motion sensors for lights where possible (like alternate floors in stairwells); installed OR considered

Solar reflective paints on roof & walls OR committed for next repaint

✅ ACs: No ACs in common areas OR if ACs they are BEE 5-star with a temperature set-point in place >=26°C 

Green Energy

✅ Opt-in to Green Power program with Adani OR Tata Power (login & click on Green Power)

✅ Generate green electricity in the building OR deemed unfeasible

Societies who achieved a B in Electricity action generate renewable electricity on-site OR opted-in to receive Green Power AND have taken at least one Energy Efficiency/Sufficiency action listed above.

Food Action

Societies who achieved an A in Food action, have taken ALL the following climate actions:

Composting

Food/Wet Waste segregation is required and composted in the building or locally

Gardening

✅ Compost is returned to residents or a community garden to grow food

Resources: Organic Seeds (Ugaoo), Compost (Use your own!), and get seedlings, pots, watering can at nurseries in Powai.

Societies who achieved a B in Food action took the first action listed above — composting their food waste.

Materials Action

Societies who achieved an A in Materials action, have taken ALL the following climate actions:

Material Streams:

Dry Waste: Residents required to segregate dry waste (plastic, paper, cans/metals, glass, insect repellents, cosmetics, paints, air fresheners, etc.) and give it to an authorised vendor(s).

✅ Electronic Waste: Residents are required to segregate e-waste and give it to an authorised vendor.

✅ Bio-Medical Waste: Anything with Bodily Fluids (like Diapers, Sanitary Napkins, Bandages, Syringes, and Expired Medicines) is given to an authorised vendor.

Eco-Friendly Cleaning:

Cleaning products used in building common areas are eco-friendly (bio-enzymes / natural cleaners).

Societies who achieved a B in Materials action took the first action listed above — segregating dry waste to an authorised vendor.

Water Action

Societies who achieved an A in Water action, have taken ALL the following climate actions:

Reuse: Water from sinks and showers is reused in the building for flushing.

✅ Rain: The building has a rainwater harvesting system.

✅ Sewage treatment: Sewage from the building is treated within the building itself or at an STP in  Powai.

Societies who achieved a B in Water action have taken any one of the actions listed above.
